Golden Eagles claim second win over Beavers for sweep.

    With eight different lead changes throughout the game, the University of Minnesota Crookston women’s basketball team ultimately came out on top and claimed an 83-75 win over the Bemidji State University Beavers Tuesday at Bemidji’s Sanford Center.


    UMC shot 31-of-58 (53.4 percent) from the field, 6-of-18 (33.3 percent) from the field and 15-of-17 (88.2 percent) from the free-throw line.


    BSU shot 29-of-62 (46.8 percent) from the field, 11-of-23 (47.8 percent) from the 3-point range and 6-of-10 (60 percent) from the charity stripe.


    Golden Eagle Emily Gruber walker away with a team-high 20 points on the game while Bemidji State’s Aimee Pelzer scored 21.


    With the win, the Golden Eagles improve to 4-10 overall and 4-6 in NSIC action.


    UMC returns to the court at 6 p.m. Friday to host the Southwest Minnesota State University Mustangs at Lysaker Gymnasium.
