A BIG CHEERS to all involved with free summer lunches.

A BIG CHEERS to all involved with free summer lunches. My husband and I have loved having a fun family option for meals with our foster kiddos and visiting nieces and nephews. Adults are only $4, which is bonkers. It has provided us an opportunity to meet other families and individuals in Crookston. The meals are delicious and nutritious and they bring folks together.

I also want to give a big CHEERS to Polk County Social Services. We wanted to be licensed for foster care when we lived in Minneapolis, but the class work just wasn't doable for us. When we moved to Crookston last year, we were still determined to get licensed and we found Polk County to be fabulous to work with. We had wonderful home visits with Jackie Jeffrey. We were able to get our home and hearts prepared properly in a short amount of time. We could watch training videos instead of going to different locations for our foster education. Polk County made it easy for us to answer this calling and they have been there for us every step of the way.

We encourage any family of any make-up to consider fostering in Crookston. There is a great need and if you choose to take the plunge, there's help for every step of it. The social workers are responsive, caring, and knowledgeable. We've never been in the dark.
