Last week, Amanda Lien, Executive Director of the Crookston Area Chamber Commerce and Convention Visitors Bureau, announced that she will be resigning from her fulltime position effective the middle of January of 2018 to pursue a Master’s Degree in Business Administration at the College of St. Scholastica.
During her tenure, Executive Director Lien has worked with the best interests in mind for both organizations and helped fulfill the mission of each organization. Her dedication to meaningful change has been invaluable to our organizations, and she has and continues to seek guidance, direction, approval from each respective Board of Directors. Amanda has not acted alone in implementing the strategy of each organization and has done an excellent job fulfilling her duties, even through adversity. With her leadership, the Chamber and CVB have a strong foundation and are well positioned to continue their important work in the future.
The Chamber and CVB are dedicated to bringing tourists and visitors to our community and enhancing our business environment and quality of life. As such, they are valuable and vital organizations working on behalf of the Crookston community. We have made many great strides expanding and delivering new programs, activities, and benefits primarily through Chamber and CVB staff.
We appreciate feedback and are always open to improving and enhancing the work that we do for the community. The Chamber and CVB have formed a Hiring Committee and will interview qualified candidates to fill the Executive Director position in the near future. In the interim, Amanda has agreed to serve in a limited capacity until a suitable replacement can be found.
Finally, we want to thank Amanda for her effort, dedication, and leadership; her ambition and talent has pushed our organizations to new levels and areas of interest. We look forward to new goals in 2018 but will miss Amanda being a part of achieving them.
