Cody Jacobs of Bismarck, N.D. passed away at the age of 34 on July 22, 2010, at Medcenter One in Bismarck after being involved in a motorcycle accident on the evening of July 21. He is survived by his wife Kimberly Jacobs, daughter of Clark and Louann McGlynn of Mentor, and his three children Eric 5, Brian 4, and Violet, 9 months.
Cody was born in Gillette, Wyoming on September 25, 1975. He attended school in McIntosh, SD, and graduated from Bismarck High School. After serving in the Marine Corps, Cody attended college at North Dakota State University where he met and married his wife, Kimberly. Cody graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a degree in geology. He worked as a well-site geologist on Alaska's North Slope.
He was devoted to his family and friends and lived every moment as if it were his last. He sought adventure and loved hunting, fishing, and being outdoors when he wasn’t working on his jeep or riding. His children idolize him, and he loved every moment he had with them. Strength radiated from Cody throughout his life, and he made all those around him feel safe and protected. His smile and laughter will forever be in their hearts. He is greatly loved and was taken from this world too soon.
Other survivors include Cody's parents, Clarence Jacobs and Marjean Schwehr, both of Bismarck; brothers and sisters: Desiree (Dan) Slatkin, Jake (Jennifer) Jacobs, Harley Jacobs, Rosann Jacobs-Fode (Shaun), Sally Jacobs and Chris Jacobs; and many nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Ed and Gwen Schwehr, and his paternal grandmother, Eleanor Jacobs.
A Mass celebrated the life of Cody Jacobs on Monday, July 26, 2010 at the Church of St. Mary in Bismarck. Cody is interred at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, N.D.
