Mary Jane Aune, 74, of Crookston, Minnesota, died Friday afternoon, June 5, 2009, in the RiverView Care Center in Crookston. Mary was born in Crookston on February 8, 1935, the daughter of William and Aurora (Maygra) DeMers. She grew up in Crookston, was baptized and confirmed at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, and was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy. For several years Mary was employed in the Office of the Polk County Treasurer at the courthouse in Crookston. On February 9, 1957 she was united in marriage to Arley Aune in Crookston. In later years she was employed at the Viking Bar and Lounge and then as a medication aide at the Villa St. Vincent until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception parish. Mary enjoyed visits with her family and reading. She will be very sadly missed by all who were a part of her life.

Loving family members include two daughters, Dana (David) Colborne of Calgary, Alberta, Canada and Lisa Monson of Thief River Falls, MN; eight grandchildren, Katherine, Jacqueline, Joe, Marnie, Megan, Ryan, Kirsten, and Christopher; a sister, Janice Timlin of Seattle, WA; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, and step-father, Truman J. Savage. Blessed be Mary’s memory.

A private family service will be held. Memorials for Mary may be directed to: Lisa Monson, 402 Arnold Avenue South, Thief River Falls, MN  56701. The Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
