Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 18, 2010 at Rejoice Lutheran Church in Clearwater for Leona H. Boldt, age 91, of St. Cloud who died Tuesday at the St. Cloud Hospital. The Rev. Tim Lindhorst will officiate and burial will be at a later date at the Clear Lake Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home, Clear Lake and one hour prior to the services Monday at the church in Clearwater.
Leona was born December 21, 1918 in Villard to Carl & Anna (Roelfs) Riecken. She married Orten Boldt on June 5, 1946 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in St. Cloud. Leona has lived in the St. Cloud and Clear Lake area most of her life. She is a member of Rejoice Lutheran Church in Clearwater, Clear Lake Lioness Club, Clear Lake American Legion Auxiliary and a former member of Haven Township Friendly Circle. Leona will be remembered as a caring and giving person to her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, feeding the birds and she loved to play cards. She will be remembered for her goulash and her chocolate chip cookies.
Survivors include her children, Janet (Carl) Zniewski of St. Cloud, Sandy Longwell of Sartell, Bonnie (Mark) Skillrud of Sauk Rapids, Bill (Karen) Boldt of St. Cloud; brother, Paul Riecken of Foley; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Orten on March 8, 1975; brothers, Arnold & Albert Riecken; sister, Ella Lechner; and grandson, Steven Zniewski.
