Patricia Lucy Anderson, 82, a longtime Fisher, Minnesota resident, died peacefully at her rural home on Thursday morning, August 12, 2010 with her family at her side. Patricia was born in Crookston, Minnesota on June 23, 1928, the daughter of Clement and Luverne (Miller) Benoit. She grew up in Crookston and attended the Cathedral School. In 1945 Pat met Lionel Anderson, and on January 10, 1948 they were united in marriage at East Grand Forks, Minnesota. The couple settled into a life of farming on the Anderson family farm near Fisher. Together, they raised four children-Susan, David, Keith, and Pamela. Pat was employed in the lab of the American Crystal Sugar Company in East Grand Forks from 1969 until 1989. The couple retired from farming in 1972. In 1995 Pat and Lionel began wintering in Arizona. Lionel passed away on March 3, 1998 at Glendale, Arizona. Pat continued to winter in Arizona, returning to Fisher for the last time in May.
She became a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in East Grand Forks in 2001. She was a longtime member, and Past-President, of the Fisher American Legion Auxiliary. Pat loved her life on the farm that had been home for over sixty-two years. Though small of stature, she was blessed with abundant energy. She enjoyed mowing lawn and working in her beautiful gardens. Her life was truly a blessing to her family and friends, and she will be missed beyond measure.
Pat will be lovingly remembered by her four children, Susan (John) Hemphill and David (Cathy) Anderson of Sun City, AZ, Keith (Delores) Anderson of East Grand Forks, MN, and Pamela Langord (Steve Guenthner) of Hazen, ND; fourteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; five siblings, Virginia Lang of Stillwater, MN, Terese Mathis of Sacramento, CA, Dorothy (Don) Albright of Sequim, WA, Donnabelle Medved of Newport Beach, CA, and Jean (Arlo) Dupont of Canon City, CO; two sisters-in-law, Harriet Anderson of Crookston, MN and Lorraine (Allan) Nesland of Long Beach, CA; her godson, Brian Anderson of Crookston; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Pat also leaves a very dear friend, Art Tinkham of East Grand Forks, MN, his children, Colleen Hyde of Moorhead, MN, Brian Tinkham of Grand Forks, ND, and Reed (Sheryl) Tinkham of Fisher, MN; and their families. In addition to her husband, Lionel, she was preceded in death by her parents, Clement and Luverne; two sisters, Bernadine Benoit and Gloria Winger; and a brother, Darrel Benoit. May God bless Pat’s memory.
