Esther Irene Bradley, 90, of Crookston, Minnesota, died Saturday morning, November 22, 2008, in the RiverView Care Center in Crookston. Esther was born in Crookston on January 10, 1918, the daughter of John P. and Bergliot (Johnson) Normann. She grew up in Crookston and was a 1936 graduate of Central High School. After high school she worked for the F. W. Woolworth Co. in Crookston for several years. On June 10, 1941 Esther was united in marriage to LeRoy "Jack" Bradley. Together the couple raised a son, David. Esther was employed in the office of Crookston’s City Hall before becoming the head bookkeeper and a bank officer at the First National Bank. She retired in 1975. Sadly, Jack passed away on June 28, 1993. Esther was a longtime member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and in her younger days, camping, fishing, and spending time at Cass Lake. She moved to the RiverView Care Center on June 5, 2007. May God bless the memory of Esther Irene Bradley.

Family members include her son, David, of Crookston, MN; two sisters, Thelma Schumacher of Oak Park, IL, and Alice DuPuis of Pasco, WA; a brother, John (Alfreda) Normann of Malta,OH; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Besides her husband, Jack, Esther was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Arnold Normann; two sisters, Evelyn Mathers and Jean Beiswenger; two half-sisters, Agnes LaBree and Lilly Normann, and two half-brothers, Thorlief Normann and Jacob Normann.

A memorial graveside service for Esther Bradley will be held at Oakdale Cemetery, in Crookston, at 1:00 pm, Friday, June 5, 2009, with the Rev. Jo Gast, officiating. The Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements. Memorials may be designated to the American Fund or Cancer Society c/o David Bradley, 1515 Radisson Road, Crookston, MN  56716.
