Viewing will be held at Joshua Memorial Park, Lancaster on Tuesday, Jan.30thfrom 5-6, internment will be at Bakersfield National Cemetery Wed. Jan. 31. He will be greatly missed.

    Roy Roger Hitchen was born in Fargo, North Dakota, Feb. 14, 1942.  He passed away in Palmdale, Ca on Jan. 22, 2018.  He was raised in the Grand Forks area of North Dakota and Minnesota where he graduated from Crookston High School in 1960.  He immediately enlisted in the US Navy where he served for 20 years, and was in Vietnam for over 7 years of his career.  After his retirement from the Navy, he moved with his family to Mojave, Ca where he worked in the aircraft industry until his retirement in 2004.  He was an avid woodworker and was always working on projects.  

    He leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Janet Hitchen; his children Roger Hitchen (Jenny) of Quartz Hill, Kim Clinton (Paul) of Las Vegas and Becky Davis (Derek) of Mojave.  Eight grandchildren Brittney Welcome; Corbin Hitchen; Ethan, Lauryn and Erin Clinton; Kaleb, Tyler and Taylor Davis.  One great-granddaughter, Haylie Welcome, and many Nieces & Nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Lilly Hitchen and siblings William, Bob, Harlan, Betty and Bruce.
