David Niemann, 52, of Crookston, Minnesota, died at his home, Tuesday, February 2, 2010. David was born on December 16, 1957, at Crookston, the son of John E. and Betty (Morlan) Niemann. He attended school at the Harold L. Richard High School in Oak Lawn, Illinois. As a young man, David worked in California, Colorado and Nevada. He entered the U.S. Army in 1984 and served honorably until 1987. After his honorable discharge, David worked for a while as a security guard in Nevada and then moved to Cass Lake, Minnesota. In 1992, he was united in marriage to Heidi Cash. The couple made their home in East Grand Forks, Minnesota. David was an avid fisherman, hunter and was a collector of many different things. He was a very active member of the Church of Christ in Crookston. David will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by everyone that shared in his life.
Loving family members include his children, Joshua David and Leah Nellie Niemann, both of East Grand Forks, MN; his mother, Betty Klemens of Las Vegas, NV; step-mother, Margaret Niemann of Lawrence, MI; siblings, Mark (Mary Tuck) Niemann of Pearblossom, CA, John (Brenda) Niemann of Milner, GA, Sherry Evitts of Crookston, MN, Linda (Marty) Dobbs of Williamson, GA, Mary Beth (Alan) Buffington of Little Rock, CA, Mark (Jennifer) Klemens of Bemidji, MN, Sherry Lynn Quintal of Castaic, CA, Robert Jr. (LuAnn) Klemens of New Brighton, PA, Sally (Chuck) Mulory of Jacksonville, FL, Diane (Michael) Bauer of Oak Lawn, IL, Margaret Polson of Chicago, IL, Georgia (Tom) Tomczak of Schaumburg, IL and Dale (Janet) Polson of Chicago; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nephews and other extended family. David was preceded in death by his father, John E. Niemann; step-father, Robert Klemens; grandparents; and a brother, Joseph Muscato.
The funeral service for David Niemann will be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at the Church of Christ in Crookston (321 5th Ave. S.). Visitation will be at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home on Monday from 5-7:00 pm, with a 7:00 pm prayer service, and also for an hour before the funeral at the church.
