Kim Michael Baril, 54, of Grand Forks, ND, died of natural causes Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at his residence. Kim was born in Crookston, MN on December 31, 1957, and was the son of Virgil and Beatrice (Brule) Baril. He grew up in Crookston and attended Crookston Public Schools. Kim enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1976 and served stateside in San Diego, CA, where he earned the Rifle Expert Badge. Following his honorable discharge in 1980 he returned to Crookston. For many years Kim worked for area farmers and spent one season at the American Crystal Sugar Company working in the factory. Being outdoors was his greatest joy, and he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at the lake. He was a good friend to many and will be missed by his family, especially his twin-brother, Kevin. Family members include his children, Alecia, Abby, Nathan, Rachel, and Jasmine; several grandchildren; 3 brothers and 2 sisters: twin-brother, Kevin Baril of Crookston, MN, Scott Baril of Maple Lake, near Mentor, MN, Tammy (William) Gorman of Green Valley, AZ, Gregg Baril of Crookston, and Michelle (Bruce) Casper of Billings, MT; as well as, several nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Kim was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Mark.
A memorial service for Kim Baril will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 24, 2012, at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston with Msgr. Roger Grundhaus, presiding. Visitation with his family will be for one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in the Oakdale Cemetery, Crookston.
