James Joseph Walsh Jr., born January 24, 1964, in Crookston, Minn., passed away while receiving hospice care at his home in Stewartville on Jan. 5, 2012, from complications with cancer. His parents are James Walsh Sr. and Terry (Stewart) Walsh.
Jim attended Jim attended Kennedy School and Crookston Central High School. He Northland Community College and obtained Associate degrees in both Aviation Maintenance Technology and Avionics Technology. He later attended the University of Minnesota-Crookston and obtained his Bachelor degree in Aviation Business Management and an A&P license. Jim served as a Staff Sergeant of the North Dakota Army National Guard from 1981 to 1995. He was married to Belinda (Schroeder) Walsh on March 28, 2009, in Rochester. He and his wife own their own business, Minnesota Midwest Brokers.
Jim is survived by his wife, Belinda (Schroeder) Walsh of Stewartville and his children, Christopher, Brittany, Dominique, Tawny; Stepchildren Jason, Jacob, Dalten, Korey. Grandchild Ayva,and his parents, James Walsh Sr. of Lake Bronson, Minn. and Terry (Stewart) Walsh of Laurel, Mont.; and siblings, Charles (Patti) Walsh of Dalbo, Minn, Michelle (Scott) Fisher of Cocoa,FL, and Randy (Sarah) Walsh of Longsdale,Minn.; and several nieces, nephews and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
A Memorial Service was held on Monday, Jan. 9 at Stewartville Assembly of God Church in Stewartville. There was no visitation, as Jim has graciously donated his remains to the Mayo Clinic for cancer research.
In lieu of flowers, please give a monetary gift to either the church or the American Cancer Society in Jim's name.
