Ed King, 68, of Bemidji, MN died Friday, January 6, 2012 at Neilson Place, Bemidji, MN.
Funeral services 11:00 a.m., Saturday, January 14, 2012 at the Neilson Place Chapel, Bemidji, MN with Fr. Don Braukmann officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior at the Chapel. The Olson-Schwartz Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Bemidji has charge of the arrangements.
Edward Frances King was born February 1, 1943 in Crookston, MN to John & Eileen King. He was raised in Euclid, MN and graduated from high school. He then served in the US Navy during Vietnam and became disabled. On September 3, 1995 he married Arlene Poppler in Crookston, MN. He was a member of the American Legion, Disabled American Veterans, VFW and Knights of Columbus.
Edward is survived by his wife; step-daughters, Crystal Poppler & Tina Sather both of International Falls, MN; step-sons, Daryle & Ron Hanson both of St. Paul, MN; 9 step-grandchildren; mother, Eileen Stancyk, Crookston, MN; brothers, Robert (Sharon) of Missouri & Thomas of Florida; sisters, Mary (Mike) Glanner, Grafton, ND, Linda (Ron) Maszk, Grand Forks, ND, Alice Faye (Gary Jenkins) Whitehead, Angus, MN, Carol (Dean) Bjelde and Patricia (Tom) Holweger both of Detroit Lakes, MN; sister-in-law, Linda King, aunt, Margaret Fournier of Crookston, MN, several cousins and many nieces & nephews. He is preceded in death by his father; sister, Judith King; brothers, Donald & Duane.
