ELGIN, Minn. (AP) — A federal agriculture official will travel to Elgin to announce new funding for new farmers and ranchers in Minnesota and surrounding states.
She’s Deputy Agriculture Secretary Kathleen Merrigan and she’s scheduled make the announcement at a farm near the southeastern Minnesota town on Tuesday.
The funding will be administered through the Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program, which provides help to farmers and ranchers who have been in business for no more than 10 years.
