A Grand Forks woman is suing a local beauty salon, saying the business’s negligence left her with second-degree burns on her scalp.

Sandra Norgard is seeking unspecified damages. The Hairapy salon denies her claims.

In her lawsuit, Norgard says she had her hair colored at the salon in March 2008 and at one point was put under a hair dryer for about 45 minutes.

According to the Grand Forks Herald, the civil complaint says Norgard suffered irritation, redness and burning on her scalp and swelling of her face and eyelids, and she required a doctor’s care.

The case is set for trial Dec. 9 in state district court.
