On Thursday, a warrant was issued for the detention of Anthony Theodore Wagoner, 27, of Crookston, who is charged with second degree assault in connection with a Christmas Day shooting in Crookston.
Wagoner was taken into custody in Moorhead on January 4, 2011 for being a felon in possession of a handgun after authorities found him in his apartment bathroom with a loaded handgun. He is currently in custody in Crookston.
Minutes before midnight on Christmas night, Crookston Police officers responded to the Riverview emergency room on the report of a gunshot wound. They spoke with the victim, Levi Fuglseth, 27, who had a gun shot wound to his right leg. Fuglseth was treated and released from Riverview Hospital. He reported that a masked man had entered his mobile home in RiverView Terrace, shot him in the leg, went through his pockets and left without taking anything.
Polk County Attorney Greg Widseth said Wagoner appeared in court in Crookston Friday morning, and will make his next appearance on Jan. 30. He'll remain in custody at least through the weekend.
