Twenty-nine dogs were seized by the Polk County Sheriff's office on Monday, June 29 due to numerous health and living-conditions issues.

The PCSO received a complaint regarding mistreatment of animals at 34791 210th Ave SE near Erskine. Upon investigation the Sheriff's Office took the dogs to area care facilities. The investigation continues.

Currently, none of the dogs have been taken to the Humane Society of Polk County in Crookston, but an HSPC representative today said the local shelter is available as a backup facility if need be.
