After working on the project for more than two years and experiencing delays due to the company originally contracted for the job going out of business, the new 2009 Polk County Land Atlas & Plat Book is finally here. They can be purchased at the Polk County Auditor-Treasurer’s Office for $37.40, including sales tax. For another $4.95, the books can be mailed out.

“I'm very pleased with the final product,” said Auditor-Treasurer Jerry Amiot. “The color, which our previous books – the last one published 10 years ago – didn't have, is excellent. It's a convenient size, too. With a photo on the cover by Rand Hughes, it's an attractive, high-quality book.”

The full-color 168-page books are the standard paper size of 8.5x11 inches with durable covers and plastic spiral binding. In addition to rural plat information and ads, they include a Polk County directory with phone numbers for departments and county facts and history. They're being sold at actual cost, he noted.

The Auditor-Treasurer’s Office is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday except on federal holidays. Books being mailed must be paid for in advance; checks should be made payable to Polk County Auditor-Treasurer and mailed to Polk County Auditor-Treasurer, 612 No. Broadway, Suite 207, Crookston, MN 56716-1452. Call 281-2554 with any questions.
