Fatal accident at Enbridge oil site north of Crookston: Driver, victim identified

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office this morning released the name of the person killed Tuesday morning north of Crookston when he was accidentally run over by a gravel truck at the Enbridge oil pipeline site.
   

Douglas Edward Peck, 54, of rural Crookston died at the scene when he was backed over by a Bertils Gravel truck and trailer driven by John Bertils, 46, of Crookston.
   

“At this time the incident appears to be a terrible tragedy,” the PCSO states in its release.
   

An autopsy at the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office is pending, and the investigation is continuing.
