It was a snowy, great day to be outside on Saturday for Crookston’s Ice Buster Daze, which featured snowmobile radar runs and an ice-fishing competition, both on the Red Lake River, and activities for people of all ages in Central Park.

The day wrapped up with a meal and celebration at the Eagles Club.

Sixteen fish were caught this year, with the largest, a 1 pound, 12 ounce northern caught by Cheryl Effhauser, taking home the big trophy.

Snowmobile radar run winners in the various heats included, in the non-traction class, Jason Benoit, Derek Wawack, Mike Boucher, Owen Ross, Gary DeBoer, Brett Vilven, Kirk Luckow and Darrin Brooks, all of Crookston. Winners in the traction class were Charlie Stenhauer, Morgan Terpstra, Mike Boucher, Darrin Brooks, all of Crookston, and David Christopherson, of Bemidji.
