It’s February already, so that means it’s Fitness Fever time again.
Every Sunday in February, free fitness related activities will be offered for the entire community.
The month’s events kick off with free swimming at the
Crookston Community Pool from 1-3 p.m. on Feb. 7. Bring your towel plus some friends and enjoy the warm water. The two-hour free swimming is sponsored by Widseth Smith Nolting & Associates.
Sunday, Feb. 14 from 1-2 p.m. will feature active play at the Community Family Service Center (formerly Carman School). Jungle gyms will be available for toddlers and preschoolers to climb. Demonstrations plus instructions, from Championship Tae Kwon Do, will capture the older ages.
Free ice skating at the new Crookston Sports Center will follow on Feb. 21 from noon to 2 p.m. Ice skates in many sizes will be available. Warm up with a free cup of hot chocolate and fresh popcorn. The indoor walking track will be available for those who prefer shoes over skates.
The final Sunday in February, the 28th, will wrap up with sledding at Sunrise Hill and cross country skiing at the Mount St. Benedict Trails from 1-3 p.m. Skis will be available. Warm up and a snack will be at the Cathedral gym.
Children and adults of all ages are welcome to attend all the fitness events. Numerous door prizes will be given away at each.
Fitness Fever is sponsored by Polk County Public Health and Wellness Works, a community committee promoting health and wellness.
