MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A mail carrier is recovering after being mauled by two dogs in Minneapolis.
Thirty-one-year-old Bryan Bloomquist was delivering mail in north Minneapolis Tuesday afternoon when two pit bulls ran out of a house and attacked him.
Neighbors and the dogs’ owner tried to pull the dogs off of Bloomquist, but nothing would stop them. The dogs turned on police officers, who fatally shot both of the pit bulls.
Bloomquist suffered dozens of puncture wounds and needed surgery. He was recovering at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
The dogs’ owner says he’s never had problems with the dogs and is not sure why they attacked.
