The ex-boyfriend of a 19-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to fatally stabbing her in Mankato.

Family and friends of Josselyn Bishop sobbed in court Tuesday as Damone Christopher Williams-Tillman admitted to arguing with Bishop, chasing her down and repeatedly stabbing her last July. A grand jury charged Williams-Tillman with first-degree murder, kidnapping and assault. His plea deal with prosecutors allows the possibility of parole following 30 years imprisonment.

The Free Press says family members impact statements were read in court, including a statement from the victim's 8-year-old brother, Gage. He told the defendant he could have walked away and spared Josselyn's life.
