Plans after high school: To go to college and play Division I hockey

Areas of involvement in clubs or organizations: Leo Club; Student Council Secretary/Treasurer; Sunday School Teacher; Conference Rep. for Lutheran Youth Organization Board

Honors and awards:  “A” Honor Roll; Hockey – Assistant Captain, All State Honorable Mention, All-Conference 2009, Most Valuable Forward 2009;  Track – Most Improved 2009; Soccer – Most Spirit 2007, Most Valuable Offense 2009

UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA, CROOKSTON: Stephanie Onken

Hometown: Round Lake, Minn.

Year in school: Senior

Plans after College: To apply and hopefully attend graduate school to study Mass Communication at NDSU in the fall.

Major area of interest: Double majoring in Communication with an emphasis in Marketing and Business Management with an emphasis in Marketing

Areas of involvement in clubs or organizations: I am involved with Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) as President. I try to help out with as many projects as possible within the organization and am working on the Presentation team speech as well as the Annual Report we take to Regionals in Minneapolis, Minn. I am also involved with the National Society of Leadership and Success and am working towards becoming an inducted member of the Society. I have worked at University Relations at the U of M, Crookston since 2007, first as an intern and now as a communications assistant, and currently I am the Head Speech Coach at Sacred Heart High School in East Grand Forks, MN.

Honors/awards: All Academic Team (for golf), Outstanding Tutor, Dean’s List
