Victor Garza is the new Crookston Area Chamber of Commerce summer intern. Garza had been recommended for the job by Corby Kemmer, director of development and alumni relations at UMC. Garza knew of the Chamber of Commerce before, because Juanita Lopez, event coordinator, had helped him earlier when he had moved to Crookston.
"I love it here, there are a lot of cool people to work with," Garza said.
Garza's duties as intern include helping with the upcoming Ox Cart Days, assisting with the United Way, and helping with the CVB (Convention and Visitors Bureau).
Garza works at UMC as assistant basketball coach and he believes that this internship will benefit his job there. Garza stated that it helps him to get to know the town of Crookston more. His internship will continue until Aug. 24.
