The Crookston Public Library on Friday, Nov. 9 at 10:30 a.m. will host Jamie and Bill Cassavant of Beyond the Yellow Ribbon Crookston for a Veterans Day event.

    The Cassavants will read “America’s White Table” by Margot Theis Raven, which is a book that helps children understand the sacrifice of the armed forces and their families.   

    A display of books on veteran-related topics will be available.

    On Saturday, Nov. 10, a “Veterans Salute” will be held at the Carnegie from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. The featured speaker will be Crookston’s Bernie Lieder, a World War II veteran. Also featured will be the Community Men’s Chorus and UMC Pop Choirs. Military uniforms and artifacts from the Polk County Historical Society will also be displayed.
