Greetings once again from Crookston Public Schools! I thought summer went fast, however, this Fall has been a whirlwind as we are now closing in on November! I wanted to highlight a few things that you may be interested in at Crookston Public Schools.

Katherine Geist just won her 11th Cross Country Meet in a row at the Section Cross Country Meet in Bagley on Saturday. It was fun to watch the race as Katherine literally ran away from the competition in conditions that were less than ideal!

Congratulations Katherine on this huge accomplishment, Crookston Schools is incredibly proud of you!

Congratulations are also in order for the Pirate Volleyball Team who just won their first playoff game since 2009!

We also just celebrated Catherine Tiedemann and Emma Borowicz earning a doubles spot in State Tennis. Congratulations to Catherine and Emma for this great accomplishment as we are so proud of you!

After School PATCH Program at CHS: We currently have an after school homework program known as PATCH which is for any student grades 7-12 and is offered at no cost. This program is a great place for students in grades 7-12 to get additional help with their homework from 3:30pm to 4:30pm in the media center at CHS. We are also offering to provide transportation at no charge if needed. If you have a student who would benefit by taking part in this program please call the high school at 218-281-2144.

Washington Elementary School is conducting a Respect Counts Program with the focus in November on honoring our Veterans.

The staff at Washington Elementary School do a great job in teaching our littlest learners about the value of respecting each other and especially in November on respect for our Veterans who have given up so much so that we can enjoy the freedom that we have today.

    Upcoming District Events:

Thursday, Nov. 1-7:30pm Band/Orchestra Concert at CHS Auditorium

Monday, Nov. 5-6:00pm PTO Bingo at Highland Elementary School

Friday, Nov. 9- 1:00pm Veterans Day Program at the Highland Elementary School Gym

Tuesday, Nov. 13- 5:00pm School Board Meeting featuring our Career and Technical Education Department

As you can see there are many things going on at Crookston Public Schools. We are proud of the kids, community, and staff that make our schools strong!
