All events will take place at the corner of West 2nd St. and North Main

Did you know that Crookston used to be named “Queen City?” That’s where the idea for the Queen City Art Festival came from and the first annual event will be held Friday, September 7 coinciding with the third annual Chalk It Up happening Saturday, September 8 all in historic downtown Crookston at West 2nd St. and North Main.

The Downtown Crookston Development Partnership (DCDP) will start the two-day event with a “party on the patio” Friday evening from 4-8 p.m. with highlight artist Allison Severson starting her art creation, food trucks, music, and the beginning of the chalk interactive stations. Saturday’s Chalk It Up event, held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., invites the public to do chalk art in the parking lot (it’s FREE this year), plus there will be art vendors, featured artists, interactive art, hair chalking, tarot readings, food, music, and more.
