One of the highlights of the weekend’s Chautauqua and French-Canadian/Metis Festival at Old Crossing and Treaty Park northeast of Crookston near Huot was the Saturday program put on by Joel Brown who portrayed George Bonga, a voyageur from 1837.

Playing Bonga, Brown offered an expert tutorial on the fur trade from that era.

The festival is presented by AFRAN (Association of the French of the North).
