Both occupants were wearing their seat belts

A juvenile passenger on an ATV that rolled in Polk County’s Knute Township this week was treated for a leg injury at RiverView Hospital in Crookston, and the driver escaped injury.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office got the call minutes after 3 p.m. Aug. 20. Upon arrival, they discovered the two juveniles and the Polaris RZR. Deputies subsequently determined that both occupants were wearing their seat belts when the ATV rolled.

The ATV is owned by James Noyes, 70, of rural Erskine.

Essentia Ambulance and the Erskine Fire Department assisted.
