This year’s pageant will be for adults only

Miss Tootsie pageant tickets will be on sale starting at noon on Monday, August 13 at the Crookston Eagles. Only 350 tickets will be available at $15 each and they sold out before the event last year, so plan to purchase early.

The 2018 Ox Cart Days event, which has seven participants, will start at 9 p.m. and is for adults only, changed slightly from last year so people can comfortably attend both the Miss Crookston pageant at the high school and Miss Tootsie. The 2017 winner at the inaugural event was Mike Flipse nicknamed “Bobbie Franklin.” Other 2017 participants included Tom Skjei, Wade Cordts, Todd Strem, Travis Oliver, Bob Magsam and Eric Aguilar.

Miss Tootsie organizer Melanie Lessard told the Times that the 2018 participants’ names will be announced Friday, August 10.

The event is sponsored by the Crookston Eagles and McKinnon Company.
