He also ran for a board seat in 2016

On the first day the filing window opened on Tuesday, Jim McBride filed his candidacy for the Crookston School Board in the November 2018 Election.

Three of the six seats on the board are up for election this year. They are currently held by Tim Dufault, Adrianne Winger, and Patty Dillabough.

McBride also ran for a seat on the board in the 2016 Election. The owner of McBride’s Automotive in Crookston, in a candidate profile leading up to the election two years ago, he described himself as a direct person who tells it like it is. He cited general frustration with a lack of leadership and accountability in the district’s leadership when asked why he was running in 2016. McBride, an avid outdoorsman, also has a background in coaching.

The school board candidate filing period closes at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14. Affidavits of candidacy are available at the Crookston School District office located at Crookston High School at 402 Fisher Avenue, Suite 593. The filing fee is $2.
