Crookston and Polk County 4-H youth participants once again distinguished themselves at the Polk County Fair in Fertile and have advanced to the Minnesota State Fair to showcase their skills.

Brylee Lessard, 16, of North Star 4-H continued her run of impressive projects crafted out of miniature, plastic army figures.

She used around 1,500 miniature soldiers for her latest creation, which earned a Blue Ribbon and Grand Champion status in Fertile.

She is the daughter of Dave and Melanie Lessard.

Linnea French and her horse, Jojo, are once again bound for the State Fair.

Linnea and her brother, Georgie, are also going to the State Fair in Performing Arts involving their speech.

Georgie won in Showmanship and Linnea earned High Point in Senior Pleasure.

Their parents are George and Rae French.

Other local youth that advanced to the Minnesota State Fair include Gretchen Theis, Bailey Bradford, and Ava Grunhovd.
