RiverView Health Type 2 Diabetes Support Group will meet from 5-6 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of every month, unless noted, in Meeting Room 1 at RiverView. They will be held August 22, September 26, October 24, November 28, December 19. The meetings are led by RiverView Dietician Darcey Larsen, RD LD and Health Coach Kelsey Billing RN BSN. The Type 2 meetings are free and open to anyone with Type 2 Diabetes and their family members. New members are always welcome.

Ride the Wind for Wendy will begin with registration at 9 a.m. at IC Muggs with 103 miles of riding with stops at the One N’ Only in Euclid, Mick’s Bar & Grill in Warren, Lightning Bar in Alvarado, Oldham Saloon in Manvel, Bun Lounge in Grand Forks, and ending at the Snow Sled in Gentilly. Donations and proceeds will be donated to the Polk County Sheriff’s Project Life Saver program.

Northern Valley Youth Orchestra Upcoming Events: On Aug. 25 they will host a pancake breakfast fundraiser from 7-9 a.m. at the Ground Round in Grand Forks. On Sept. 7-9 they will have auditions for string, wind, brass and percussion musicians ages 12-21 by appointment by emailing novyo.org. On Sept. 15 they will assist the Post Traumatic Funk Syndrome with a rock concert at Greenway Takeover Festival in Grand Forks.

CHS 7th Grade Orientation will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Crookston High School. After the welcome, a parent-only meeting and tour will be held as well as the students-only orientation. The free orientation day will have group games, you receive your schedule and find where your classes will be, log-in to computers, get a free lunch, and hear about the expectations as a 7th grader.
