On Thursday, May 17 they will face Red Lake County Central at 4:30 p.m. at Donny Lauf Field.  

Crookston School Board Meeting will be held at 5 p.m. at CHS in the Choir/Orchestra Room.

Crookston Library - On Monday, April 23 they will have Foster Care 101 at 6:30 p.m. Polk County Social Services will share the first steps to filling this void in our region plus they’ll answer questions and offer guidance.

CHS Concert Choir Spring Concert will perform at 7:30 p.m. in the CHS Auditorium. The concert will include some of the vocal contest performances from the past year. Concert admission at the door is $5 per adult and $4 per student.

Crookston Eagles On Monday, they will have $6 burger baskets from 5:30-7 p.m. and a Smear tournament at 7 p.m. On Thursday, they will have 7 p.m. Bar BINGO. On Friday, they will have the UMC Teambacker Fun Nite starting at 5 p.m. On Saturday, they will have the District #2 Eagles Convention at 1 p.m., Bar BINGO at 3:30 p.m. and a dinner from 6-7 p.m. of either swiss steak or walleye with take outs available. Foot Care Clinics will be held at 8:30 a.m. on April 24 at the Golden Link Senior Center. Foot soaks and trimming are provided. A fee of $20 is charged per client and all clinics are open to the public. Register by calling 281-3072.

7th Annual Senior Wellness Day will be held from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Crookston Sports Center. They will have speakers, informational tables, and a free lunch served at 12:30 p.m.

Golden Link Senior Center On Tuesday, April 24, they will have their day trip to the Shooting Star Casino with departure at 9:30 a.m. and return at 4 p.m. Cost is $25 and receive $5 off your meal and a $25 credit on your casino card. On Wednesday, April 25, they will have a free movie “Daddy’s Home 2” at 1:30 p.m. and at 5 p.m. they welcome the Crookston Fire Department who will present a short program on smoke and Co2 detectors. On Friday, April 27 they will have an Egg Bake from 8:30-10 a.m. SAVE THE DATE AND SIGN UP for the September 10-20 trip to Boston, Salem and Cape Ann. Crookston Men’s Christian Fellowship will meet at noon at the Evangelical Covenant Church. Presenter is Jerry Rude and the annual contribution to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes of CHS and UMS will be presented to Ardell Knudsvig.

Crookston Chapter #137 Order of the Eastern Star will meet at 7:30 p.m. with the meeting preceded by a dinner at 6:30 p.m. Members are reminded to bring a picture of themselves when they were younger.

UMC Northwest Research and Outreach Retired Employees will meet at 1:30 p.m. at the Golden Link for coffee and refreshments. All retired faculty, staff and spouses are welcome to attend.  

Crookston Summer Activities Registration Day will be held from 5-7 p.m. at the Crookston Sports Center. The purpose of this registration day is to give parents in the community opportunity to register their children for summer programs all at one time. RiverView Health Type 2 Diabetes Support Group will meet from 5-6 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of every month, unless noted, in Meeting Room 1 at RiverView. They will be held April 25, May 16 (third Wed.), June 27, July 25, August 22, September 26, October 24, November 28, December 19. The meetings are led by RiverView Dietician Darcey Larsen, RD LD and Health Coach Kelsey Billing RN BSN. The Type 2 meetings are free and open to anyone with Type 2 Diabetes and their family members. New members are always welcome.

Miss Crookston 2018 Informational Session will be held at CHS in the Commons during Prime Time for CHS juniors and seniors. A sign-up for those interested will also be located in the CHS office.

UMC Teambackers Fun Night will be held at the Crookston Eagles with 4 Wheel Drive providing entertainment for the evening.

Crookston High School Grand March, Prom, and Blast to Bede After Prom Party Grand March will be held at 5:30 p.m. CHS. Prom will immediately follow at CHS and the Blast to Bede After Prom Party will begin at 12 a.m. at UMC in Bede Ballroom.

UMC Jazz Band Concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. at UMC in Kiehle Auditorium with special guest Edwards Trumpet Performing Artist Ronnie Ingle who is professor of trumpet at UND.

UMC Aviation Club Fly-In Drive-in Pancake Breakfast will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Crookston Municipal Airport. Cost is $5 or $6 if you use a credit card. Children under 6 is free. PIC’s flying-in are free. They will be serving pancakes, eggs, sausages, coffee and orange juice. The EAA will be providing free airplane rides for kids ages 8-17 starting at 9 a.m. The event is sponsored by the UMC Aviation Club.

Our Savior’s Lutheran School BBQ will be held from 5-7 p.m. at Our Savior’s. Free will offering and take outs available. Menu is pulled pork sandwiches, bbq sauce, baked beans, potato salad, and coleslaw by Smokey Woods Grill with sweets and a drink. All proceeds go to Our Savior’s Lutheran School.

UMC Annual Junior High Music Festival will be held for more than 200 junior high music students from many different schools across northwestern Minnesota.


Tuesday, May 8

DNR Hunter Safety Training will be held from 7-9 p.m. on May 8, 10, 11, 15, 17, 18 and 19 at the Crookston Gun Club. The training is for anyone age 11 and older, and youth hunters and those planning on hunting out of state are required to have a Firearm Safety Training Certificate. RiverView Health 5K Walk/Run and Kids 1/2 Mile Fun Run will have registration at 9 a.m. at the Rehab entrance on the south side of RiverView Health. The Kids Fun Run starts at 9:30 a.m. and the 5K Walk/Run starts at 10 a.m. This is a family-friendly event and there is no cost for the Kids Fun Run. There is a $15 entry fee for 5K registrations postmarked May 2 or before; registrations after May 2 have a $20 entry fee. All pre-registered 5K participants will receive a t-shirt.
