4th Annual Easter Egg Scramble and Craft & Vendor Fair begins at 10 a.m. Saturday

Preparations for the 4th Annual Easter Egg Scramble and Craft & Vendor Fair were underway Wednesday at Crookston Sports Center where event coordinators filled eggs and got prizes ready for the big day. Over 5,000 eggs will be spread out on the floor of the CSC Saturday, March 31 from 10 a.m. to noon for kids ages 0-10 to “scramble” for candy-filled or prize-filled egg surprises.

West Polk County’s American Cancer Society committee started the event in 2015 after seeing the need for a family-friendly spring holiday gathering to cater to children in the area. The egg scramble portion of the event is free, thanks to their sponsors, but there’s plenty more to entertain kids and adults.

Every year, there are pictures with the Easter Bunny by Joyful Heart Photography who donates a portion of their proceeds back to the American Cancer Society. They also host professional face painter, Jolin Goulet (Face Painting by Jolin), and Balloon Twisting (balloon animals) by Jeffrey Salveson. Bella’s Treats snow cones and lemonade slushes is a returning favorite as well as fresh spring tulips available for purchase thanks to the Crookston Kiwanis Helping Hands Builders Club. A variety of vendors like LulaRoe by Kelli Bertils and Perfectly Posh by Jana Hodgson are among a dozen others that will set up their pop-up shop for adults to browse while kids enjoy games and activities. You can even get Ox Cart Days summer festival buttons at the event in preparation of their big event week, August 13-19, plus you will have a chance to win weekly prizes with your button number. Looking to bring something special to the table later Saturday or Sunday? There will be Easter goodies to buy at the bake sale, too.
