Cathedral School sixth grader Caden Boike, above, is paying it forward to help the less fortunate in the Crookston community. It all began with $10 that was given to him and his classmates at Cathedral School. They were each given $10 in memory of Steve Kraft’s father, Ray Kraft. They were to do a good and kind deed to pay it forward to someone else. Caden wanted to be able to give away more than $10. He along with the help of his parents, Lon and Chris Boike, came up with the idea of making buttons to sell. Caden came up with a design and positive message to share with others. “Be a Ray of Sunshine” was born and Caden is selling the buttons for $5 apiece.  The proceeds are all going to help those that need help in our community. If you would like to buy a button, see Caden at The Knights of Columbus Fish Fry on the Fridays during Lent at Cathedral from 5 to 7 p.m. The Crookston Knights of Columbus have helped sponsor Caden’s project.
