99th Birthday of the American Legion Potluck will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the VFW upstairs hall. All members of the Crookston American Legion, American Legion Auxiliary and Sons of the American Legion and their guest are invited. Skywarn Storm Spotter Training Class will be held from 6-8:30 p.m. in Kiehle Auditorium at UMC. The class is beneficial for those who wish to become better informed as well as those who want to be designated storm spotters. The trainings will be conducted by a Warning Coordination Meterologist from the National Weather Service. Individuals are taught the basics of thunderstorm development, storm structure, what constitutes severe weather, and how to report this information. UMC International Dinner Series will be held Monday, 19 and 26, and Wednesday, April 4 in Bede Ballroom. Tickets are $20 for each March dinner and $25 for the final International dinner in April. Students cost is $10 for March and $15 for April. Complete ticket sets for all four meals are $75 or students $65. March 6 dinner at 6 p.m. is titled “I am Hmong, so Where Am I Really From?” featuring Henry Soung a senior majoring in communication. March 19 dinner at 6 p.m. “Cayman Style: A Taste of Paradise”, featuring April Ebanks-Agurci, a freshman majoring in elementary education wants to share about retirement and tourism in the Caymans. March 26 dinner at 6 p.m. “Legends and Culture of Zimbabwe” featuring Marshall Mbanga, a freshman majoring in information technology management. He will share his love for his country and its legends, and the world of soccer. The final International Dinner on April 4 starts at 5 p.m. with booth displays in the Northern Lights Lounge followed by the dinner at 6 p.m. The dinner series concludes with dances, singing, instruments, and more. There will be food from several countries and international student performances. Tickets must be purchased in advance.

Coots is a former Commanding General and CEO of Regional Health Command Europe, Command Surgeon for the U.S. Army Europe and Seventh Army, and more than 20 years executive experience in all aspects of healthcare management and medical administration.

Twelve Angry Men Spring Theater Production of Crookston Community Theater and the U of M Crookston will be held at 12:15 p.m. on Thursday, March 22 followed by performances on Friday and Saturday, March 23 and 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Kiehle Auditorium at UMC. General admission is $12 at the door or one Crookston Community Theatre season’s ticket per person. UMC students are free with their student ID. By special arrangement, high school students may attend Thursday’s afternoon performance for $1.

Crookston Firefighters Fun Night Fundraiser will be held at the Crookston Eagles with a social starting at 5 p.m. followed by dinner at 6 p.m. and the band “Sushi Roll” playing from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. There will be raffles and door prizes throughout the evening. Pancake Breakfast Benefit and Silent Auction for Lori (Wang) Youngdahl will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fertile Community Center. Lori was diagnosed in August 2016 with Stage 2B Invasive Ductal Carcinoma of her left breast, and has now been diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Cancer in her bones.
