Fisher School students Elizabeth McDonald, Kaitlynn Sondrol, and Adam Sorenson participated in the Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) Subsection 31Vocal Solo Contest held in Crookston on Wednesday January 24. Kaitlynn performed “Amazing Grace,” the traditional hymn arranged by Patrick Liebergen.  Elizabeth performed “Farewell, Lad,” a Catalan folk song arranged by Jackie O’Neill. Adam performed “Give a Man a Horse He Can Ride,” composed by Geoffrey O’Hara. All three soloists were accompanied by their choir director, MaryJane Kurpius-Brock. Kaitlynn, Elizabeth, and Adam were all awarded a Superior/ “Double Star” rating from their judges. A “Double Star” is the highest possible MSHSL contest rating. In addition, Adam received a perfect score of 40 points.
