Polk County Sheriff's Office responded to report of a domestic assault; gunshot wound appears to be self-inflicted.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office has identified the man who died from a single gunshot wound in a rural Crookston residence Friday night, after the PCSO responded to the report of a domestic assault. He's Roy Bester, 60, and his death appears to have been caused by a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The domestic assault call came in at 9:35 p.m. Friday at a residence east of Crookston. A responding deputy heard a single gunshot come from the house. He was subsequently able to locate and safely remove the reporting party and her daughter from the home. They were medically checked, found to be not hurt, and released.

The male was subsequently found in a bedroom of the house, and was pronounced dead from the gunshot wound.

The investigation continues.
