Laura Golden is “it’’ at RiverView Health. “It’’ meaning the Employee of the Month for November. But this isn’t the first time she’s been “it’’ at RiverView.

IPU Director Annie Waldal knew Laura Golden was “it’’ even before she met her in person. Waldal’s first interaction with Golden was an interview for a RN position via Skype when Golden was then living in Nebraska. Later, Golden would visit RiverView for a peer interview and was offered a position. RiverView even held the position for four months waiting for Golden to move to the area. That’s what happens when you’re “it.”

“She has a strong faith and she portrays warmth and a caring attitude in caring for our patients,’’ Waldal shared of Golden’s passion and empathy for patients suffering. “She is the RiverView culture that we are spreading on the Inpatient Unit!’’

“I was so nervous to look for jobs when I moved to Minnesota because I didn’t know anyone in this state except my husband and his family,’’ Golden shared. “The Lord answered my prayers with the incredible co-workers here at RiverView with such a positive and fun working environment. I love our team!’’

Golden, a native of Lincoln, Nebraska, began as an RN at RiverView in August of 2016. She has her BSN from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Lincoln. She and her husband, Tyler, live in Warren, and are expecting their first child, a girl, on Jan. 6.

In her spare time, Golden loves running, playing volleyball and being with friends and family.
