    A shop building in Erskine was destroyed by fire Wednesday afternoon, but no one was hurt.

    The Polk County Sheriff’s Office reports that the call came in around 3 p.m. The structure that burned is owned by Northern Plains Rail Service. The estimated value of the structure is not yet known.

    An investigator from the State Fire Marshal’s office is looking into the cause.

    Assisting the PCSO at the scene were firefighters from Erskine, Mentor and McIntosh, and Essentia Ambulance.
