Dine Out Week for the United Way of Crookston is Nov. 12-18. Eat at Arby’s, Crookston Inn, Happy Joe’s, RBJ’s, I.C. Muggs, Irishman’s Shanty or McDonald’s that week and a portion of the sales will be donated to the United Way of Crookston. Give a little, change a lot...

Together we can accomplish more than any single group on its own. Our three main initiatives are Health, Education and Income for every person in every community that we serve. In fact you may be surprised how many zip codes that our local United Way service area covers. United Way of Crookston not only serves Crookston, but Fisher, Euclid, Fertile, Beltrami, Mentor, Climax, Red Lake Falls, Thief River Falls, St. Hilaire and Goodridge.

We realize that some of these communities have Community Funds but they don't have their own United Way. So just because you may not live in Crookston, many of our agencies do provide benefits to your zip code.  North Country Food Bank and Food Shelf serves most of these areas, many receive Energy Assistance in the winter, or get Home Delivered Meals. The Polk County DAC may clean your schools, a church or a business, and some volunteers may be affiliated with RSVP.

So, the United Way partnerships have far reaching impact in our area and we cover a lot of zip codes. The key to your United Way donation, is that your investments in your community are combined with other investments and programs, and these strategic collaborations help make a difference in people's  lives.  Keep your dollars local and serving our people.

Remember hunger exists where you live, so be sure to check on your friends, neighbors, and co-workers. If you can't  give a lot remember one dollar will buy five meals for a child or a family.

The United Way's Campaign is currently underway.  Find out how your gift can make a difference at unitedwayofcrookston.org or email Lori Wagner at lori@unitedwayofcrookston.org.
