Newton’s pickup spins around and hits third vehicle after being struck
A Crookston man on Friday escaped injury in a crash involving three vehicles in Erskine.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office and other emergency responders got the call shortly after 9:30 a.m., from the intersection of U.S. Highway 2 and Vance Ave. in Erskine.
According to the PCSO, John Rakowski of Erskine was driving a 2016 Hyundai Santa Fe north on Vance Ave. and was crossing Highway 2 when he collided with an eastbound 2012 GMC Sierra pickup driven by Luther Newton of Crookston. The Sierra then spun around and struck a 2012 Ford Escape stopped at the stop sign on Vance Ave. South. The person operating the Escape was not identified in the PCSO release.
Rakowski was taken by Essentia Ambulance to Essentia Hospital in Fosston for treatment of minor injuries.
The investigation into the collision continues.
