Deadline for entries is Nov. 1
The “My Story Contest” which seeks to further build on the “Belong in Crookston” community marketing initiative is underway, and the deadline for submissions is Nov. 1 by 4:30 p.m.
The “Belong in Crookston” community branding initiative was launched last year by the City of Crookston, Crookston Chamber, and Convention and Visitors’ Bureau. It seeks to get positivity about living, learning, working and playing in Crookston spread far and wide via a variety of mediums.
Now, organizers want Crookston residents to tell their “Belong in Crookston” stories, and the ones deemed the best will win prizes. Entrants can capture their story by using memes, videos, jingles, music, etc. Questions they’re asked to consider while formulating their entries include “What’s YOUR Crookston story?”, “What can YOU be?” and “How do YOU belong?”
Creations should be emailed to City Administrative Assistant Tina Trostad at city hall, at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Winners will receive $500, $250 or $125 in Chamber Bucks. There will be four winners chosen, including those in teen and youth categories.
Entrants are encouraged to feature the Belong in Crookston logo, which is available at http://ckn.mn/contest.
Participants should know that winning entries could potentially be used in Crookston marketing campaigns. They also need to know that they need to have copyrights for materials they feature in their entries that are borrowed from other artists.
