The flower baskets are down, and the cornstalks are going up. Local clubs, organizations and businesses are invited to participate in dressing up Crookston for the fall season and Halloween. The idea is to make Crookston charming, inviting and festive for shoppers and travelers coming to or through town.

The idea is to make Crookston charming, inviting and festive for shoppers and travelers coming to or through town.

To make it easy to decorate, the Chamber of Commerce has shocks of cornstalks available for pick-up. The cost of a shock is $10. Call 281-4320 or stop by the Chamber office to reserve yours today. Your group or business can decorate your light pole, corner, or business with any fall theme you may wish, but for consistency the Chamber asks you to start with the base of cornstalks. The pole decorations should be up for the Cornstalk Jamboree on Oct. 14 held at Downtown Square and remain up through Halloween. The groups participating are responsible for clean up.
