Fundraising needs to get underway

On the heels of the 2017 Crookston High School Music Trip to Florida this past spring, it’s time to start planning and, most importantly, fundraising for the next trip in the spring of 2021.

The Crookston School Board on Monday will get an update on the 2021 trip from Chris Fee, president of the Crookston Music Trip Parent Organization.

The music trip to Disney World in Florida has been an every-four-year tradition for many years, with CHS music students in band, choir and orchestra partaking in the trip with their instructors and chaperones, and performing at Disney World while there. But while the trip may take place every four years, student fundraising is almost constant.

If board members have any questions for Fee on Monday, they’ll likely have to do with the lodging accommodations while in Florida. During the 2017 trip, a staff member affiliated with the hotel stole money and several other items from some CHS Music students. The hotel was on Disney World property, and the company later reimbursed some of the theft victims.

The board meets at 5 p.m. Monday in the CHS choir/orchestra room.
