The Pirates played a match originally scheduled for September 12.

    The Crookston Pirates were scheduled to play Thief River Falls on September 12. But due to the high temperature of 90-plus degrees, the match was postponed. The Pirates played the rescheduled match on September 18 in Thief River Falls and lost as a team 5-2.    

    The Pirates earned their victories from Ally Tiedemann in the first singles competition and the first doubles team of Catherine Tiedemann and Amy Follette.    

    Ally Tiedemann won her match in two sets 6-1 both times. Catherine Tiedemann and Follette also won their match in two sets taking the sets 6-3, 6-0.   

    Jaeden Lizakowski played in second singles losing 6-0 and 6-2. Emily Barrus competed in the third singles falling 6-0 and 6-1 while Elysa Christensen dropped the fourth singles match 6-3 and 6-2.    

    Emma Borowicz and Nissa Brekken played in the second doubles match and lost 6-1 and 6-2. The third doubles team of Hannah Street and Hayden Winjum kept their sets close, but eventually dropped the match 6-4 and 6-3.    

    As a team, the Pirates still boast an 11-5-1 record. Next on the schedule is a triangular in Bemidji against Detroit Lakes and Bemidji today, Tuesday September 19.    

    The Pirates played Detroit Lakes earlier in the season and took the match 5-2. This will be the first time Crookston faces Bemidji this season.    

    The match against Detroit Lakes begins at 3:30 p.m. and the Pirates will play against Bemidji at 5 p.m.
