There’s something for everyone on tap
Wojo’s Rodeo is fast approaching, with two action-packed days in Crookston’s Central Park on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 15-16. The rodeo action starts at 5 p.m. on Friday. Following the rodeo performance, a jam-packed schedule follows on Saturday.
The band Jacked Up! takes the stage at 11 a.m. on Saturday, and Wojo’s will run their slack (overflow rodeo contestants not featured in the competitive rodeo), followed by a free championship mutton-busting event at noon. All kids are encouraged to participate in the mutton-busting event.
From 1 to 3 p.m., Wojo’s will host a Rodeo Event Clinic that will also be free for the public to participate in. They will be demonstrating all sorts of rodeo events and how they are done. It will be a time to learn and also participate in some of the events. Adults and kids are welcome to attend and interact. Contestants and staff from Wojo’s Rodeo will be on-site conducting the event.
Rodeo events both days will include Bull Riding, Bareback, Saddle Bronc, Barrel Racing, Team Roping, Calf Roping, Steer Wrestling, Jr. Bull Riding, Mutton Busting, Jr. Barrels, Breakaway Roping, and Mini Bronc Riding.
The rodeo will feature several local and area competitors, including Travis, Kristen and Tristen Schwarz of Fisher, Casey and Laura Wangen, Chris and Stacy Dufault, and Jeanie Andringa.
Vendors on-site will include Food Concessions and a Beer Garden hosted by Drafts of Crookston.
Daily entrance cost at gate are $15 for adults (13 years and older), $10 for children (6-12 years old) and 4 years old and younger under get in free. Advanced two-day passes can be purchased at the Crookston Chamber of Commerce office at a discounted rate. A two-day pass for an adult is $25 and a two-day pass for a child is $15. Stop by to pick one up or call the Chamber to reserve passes at 281-4320.
