Leslie Rasmussen, RN, is a CHS grad
You could say Leslie Rasmussen, RN on the Inpatient Unit, has come full circle at RiverView Health. Her RiverView experience actually started when she was a RN student at RiverView. She enjoyed her time at RiverView so much that she decided she wanted to start her career at RiverView – which she did in May of 2015. She started working as an LPN at RiverView until she passed her RN boards. Today, she’s credited with being a great educator for the new nurses on the IPU. As a matter of fact, her teaching abilities are one of the reasons she was recently named RiverView’s Employee of the Month for August.
Rasmussen grew up locally and graduated from Crookston High School. She received her LPN from Moorhead Technical School and finished her RN degree at Northland in Thief River Falls.
She and husband Joey have been together over eight years and have a daughter named Charli, 18 months. The couple is also expecting a baby in February. The family resides in Euclid.
Of her RiverView experience, she shared: “I knew during RN clinicals that this was a place I felt I’d fit right in. All of the staff I work with make my job so much more enjoyable. They are like my second family! I knew that caring for people is what I always wanted to do and I’m so glad that RiverView is where I get to provide that care. It’s such an honor to be recognized as employee of the month, although all of my coworkers should be recognized for how great they are too!’’
